A WordPress plugin that turns any post into a podcast episode? Today I want to walk through what it actually looks like to use.
The plugin shows up in the block editor as a small sidebar. You open the post you’ve written, click the headphones icon in the top right of the editor, and a panel slides out. Three tabs run across the top: Settings, Script, and Episode. The whole flow moves left to right.
Settings is where you decide how the episode should sound. There’s a mode picker for narration or conversational. Narration is a single voice reading the post aloud. Conversational is two hosts having a discussion about it. Below the mode you pick a length, a tone, and the voices you want. Then you click Generate script.
That kicks the post over to Claude, which rewrites it as a podcast script. For narration, that means tightening the prose for the ear instead of the eye. For conversational, Claude writes a back-and-forth where the hosts react to your ideas, ask each other questions, and trade observations. A few seconds later the script appears on the Script tab.
From there you can read it, edit it inline if you want to tweak something, and hit Generate preview to hear the first thirty seconds. If you like what you hear, click Render full episode. The plugin sends the full script over to ElevenLabs for the audio, drops the resulting MP3 into your media library, and creates a new entry on the Podcast Episodes screen behind the scenes.
The Episode tab shows the finished podcast. You can play it in the sidebar, hop over to your podcast app to subscribe, or close the panel and move on. Posts that have an episode also get an inline audio player on the post page itself, plus a Copy feed URL button so visitors can pick up the show in any podcast app.
Behind all of this is a real RSS feed served from your own site. Real podcast app. Real audio. Real episodes pulled from real posts. The same thing you would get from a hosted podcast service, except it lives entirely inside WordPress, on your own infrastructure, with your own settings.
I am still ironing out edges, but the core loop works. Write something. Generate. Listen. Subscribe. The bridge between writing and listening is just a button.
